Regional HR Manager Job Description

A Human Resource (HR) manager is in charge of recruiting, and training employees, ensure adherence of state and federal laws pertaining to work environment and compensation. The regional HR manager will coordinate with other local managers to carry out organizational goals.
Human Resource (HR) is one of the keys of organizational success because it is the driving force behind achieving the commercial objectives. The Human Resource Department (HRD) is responsible for work force creation and management, and the HR manager helms these activities.
Organizations that have business units in different geographical locations will have a regional HR manager who will oversee activities of the different HRDs. Duties

One of the tasks the regional HR manager undertakes is planning and identifying methods that will enhance the employees and customers relation in the region to support organizational growth. They will design and implement procedures and policies on staffing and workforce management to optimize production and services.
Introduce learning and development programs for the staff and other management to enhance their skills is also a part of their job.
The job also involves overseeing compliance to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulation. They will also ensure adherence to federal and state, employment and benefit laws.
Implementing company policies and guidelines and ensuring employee adherence to these mandates is also their duty. Appraising the staff about policy and procedural changes is another task they have to undertake.
Charting recruitment and retention programs to build a result oriented commercial structure is their main responsibility. Developing policies regarding benefits and compensations of the staff that act as incentives for optimizing performance is also a part of their job profile.
Supporting talent acquisition initiatives and contributing to sourcing, interviewing, selecting and training programs is the mainstay of their duties. Appraising local managers and initiating development programs for them also comes under their authority.
Briefing new managers and employees about company policies and procedures is one of their important tasks. The HR regional manager will also oversee maintenance of payroll data by HR administrators. They will also collect information regarding employee satisfaction, work conditions, wages and performance reports.
The HR regional manager will also be required to work closely with stakeholders, participate in meetings and briefing them about personnel issues is part of their job profile.
Employers require candidates to have at least a bachelor's degree in HR or related fields, however most job postings prefer candidates with a master's degree in business administration. Companies also prefer candidates with a Senior Professional in Human Resource (SPHR) or Professional in Human Resource (PHR) certification.
Experience in related field amounting to 5-7 years is one of the requirements for most job postings. The regional HR manager salary ranges anywhere between USD 80,000 to USD 130,000 per year. These figures are affected by employer type, location and experience of the candidate.
Individuals are also required to have working knowledge of computer programs related to HR and payroll. Keeping current legal updates of local, state and federal laws is also a requirement of this job profile. Individuals are required to pro-actively plan team building and leadership development activities to enhance employee performance.
Personal qualities like negotiation and problem solving skills will be appreciated by employers. The ability to work with personnel from all levels is the key to a successful career in the human resource department.
The regional HR manager is also responsible for developing, monitoring, and interpreting key performance indicators (KPIs). They are also in charge of the rewards and recognition initiatives of the organization to promote employee satisfaction.
